I started working in finance in 2001. After a diverse career providing financial and mortgage advice at banks including Halifax and Lloyds, my vision was to offer a more personalised, better quality service than high street banks, national chains and traditional financial advisers. So, I opted for redundancy in 2012 to go self-employed and after establishing the business then needing to expand further, Future Planning was born in 2015.
I specialise in helping clients understand how much money they need in life and creating detailed plans on the best way of achieving their goals. I also focus on tax, investment, retirement and estate planning, and particularly enjoy helping higher earners/company owners to escape their work and remain free from financial worries, so they can enjoy life to the full.
On the weekends, I enjoy catching up with friends and family as well as long walks with my partner and dogs. We are currently renovating our next home, so this takes lots of researching on Pinterest (with me not winning most of the design discussions!). I enjoy and have interests in trading markets and forex, property, investments in disruptive industries, and broad music, film and sporting interests.
I play football several times a week with friends, however, I’m not that good albeit still competitive on the pitch! I also enjoy exploring new places, both in the UK and overseas and have a bucket list of places to tick off – the same as I encourage clients to have.

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:
Catching up with friends usually doing ‘couples’ things. Going for long walks with Ana and our dogs.
My favourite holiday destination is:
Short-haul: Barcelona and long-haul: Philippines.
My favourite song to play in the car is:
Ed Sheeran is easy to sing (badly) along to.
The three qualities that draw me to new people are:
Good-hearted. Honesty. Humour.
My pet peeve is:
Having to deal with returns for internet orders.
The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

My proudest moment as a Financial Planner was:
Rescuing unhappy clients trapped still working, showing them early retirement while enjoying a good life was possible then helping this become a reality. Sadly, whilst no longer in great health, they have achieved most of their bucket list and remain happily retired.
The three things I love most about my job are:
Seeing the positive impact my work has on people’s lives and how much better off I make them. The team I work with – genuinely fantastic people. It allows me to do more for good causes and things that I consider to be important in life.
The types of people I most enjoy working with are:
People who are honest, positive and open to change. People who both want and are ready to improve themselves/their situation.
