Speed is of the essence when buying an auction property

Whether you’re buying a property at auction for your main residence or to rent out, you’ll need ready access to funds to make the purchase. As soon as the gavel has fallen, a deposit of 10% is due, with the balance required within 28 days.

For these reasons, it makes sense to have a decision in principle on a mortgage before the auction takes place. We can recommend lenders who will provide bridging loans for the deposit, a decision in principle for the mortgage and are known for progressing applications quickly.

Some auction properties, particularly dilapidated properties might be regarded as unmortgageable. However, if you’ve got your sights set on a re-build project, speak to us. We have access to a range of lenders who may well provide funding for the property you want to buy.
