It’s been another busy few months here at Future Planning, with staff changes, team-building events, and volunteering in the local community.
This time around, your regular Future Planning team update begins as the team is taken hostage inside a creepy roadside hostel…
Swindon’s Escape Room provides a narrow defeat but doesn’t disappoint
Swindon’s City Mazes escape room was the location for the latest in a series of Future Planning team-building adventures undertaken by the team back in February.
The escape saw the team pull into a creepy-looking hostel after a long road trip, only to be taken hostage with just 60 minutes to escape. Adding to the difficulty this time around, we were handcuffed together in groups of three!
Here’s Edi, trying to concentrate on masterminding his escape, while handcuffed between two ladies:
Prone to getting into scrapes of this kind – we have previously found ourselves confined to a scientist’s lab amid a zombie apocalypse – we have always managed to escape. This time we weren’t so lucky.
With red herrings galore, we narrowly avoided making our escape – “We were literally one clue from getting out!” lamented Ana – but we all lived to tell the tale and it made for another fun day out for all the team.
Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre welcomes its newest recruits next month
Next month, the Future Planning team will be continuing its team-building efforts by volunteering at the RSPCA Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre in Cricklade. We are all super excited!
This is a new partnership and this month will mark our first time volunteering here.
An independent branch of the National RSPCA, the charity runs nine shops locally, the proceeds of which help to fund the amazing work the centre does. Its mission is to prevent cruelty, promote kindness, and alleviate the suffering of animals, and we’re proud to be supporting such a great cause.
We’re especially looking forward to meeting all the rescued deer, foxes, hedgehogs, and bats.
We’ll also be learning more about the centre’s Spring Release Programme. This sees animals that the centre rescued during the harsh winter released back into the wild in spring.
Celebrating Earth Day by going carbon neutral… and beyond!
In celebration of Earth Day 2022 (22 April), and as part of our ongoing commitment to the environment, Future Planning has become a carbon-neutral business.
We are officially climate positive, meaning that you can work with us in the knowledge that our interactions won’t detrimentally affect the environment.
But how are we doing this?
Future Planning is working with a company called Ecologi and has committed to planting 10 trees for each of our staff members, every month. This takes the business beyond carbon zero!
Stay alert for updates in the coming months as we launch further tree planting initiatives, as part of an ongoing commitment to the planet, and our desire to make a positive environmental impact.
Future Planning joins Friends of Old Town
Old Town, in the heart of Swindon, bustles with restaurants and bars, shops and live music. To help everyone make the most of the amazing food, drink and entertainment on offer, local businesses can sign-up to offer discounts to local people through the Friends of Old Town scheme.
Future Planning is delighted to announce that we are now fully signed-up members.
Supporting independent retailers and businesses, 70 local firms are signed up for the scheme. And Future Planning will be offering a free initial consultation for mortgage advice or financial planning and £50 off the initial fee.
If you have friends or relatives who would benefit from expert financial advice, be sure to let them know so that they can get in touch, and benefit from our discounted rate.
