Your Future Planning Review of 2025

In your first team update of 2026, we’re looking back at last year with your 2025 Review of the Year.

Take a look at everything we learned about the team in 2025 and exactly what we got up to inside and outside the office.

And be sure to keep an eye out for all the latest from 2026 in the coming months.

Q1 2025 saw the team celebrating World Book Day and International Women’s Day

A series of awareness days back in Q1 led the team to think about inspirational women and share their own favourite books.

We learned that Drew’s favourite book is The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living by Ryan Holiday. The book offers 366 insights and exercises in small, digestible chunks.

Drew’s inspirational woman was Joan of Arc.

Tyrone, meanwhile, chose self-made billionaire Marian Ilitch. She co-founded Little Caesars Pizza and is helping to build a $1.4 billion sports and entertainment district in Detroit.

Future Planning hit Fuerteventura in May and revealed their summer plans

At the start of May, Sanjay and the team headed to Fuerteventura. Adam reported on a trip filled with island exploration, beach walks, and sampling local food and drink.

Sanjay then began training hard for his Canadian canoeing expedition on the Yukon, including hiking in Vancouver and Whistler. Sanjay completed the 715-km race, describing it as a great experience that involved disconnecting from technology and exploring British Columbia and the Yukon.

The breathtaking scenery and nature ensured Sanjay left with memories to last a lifetime, not to mention some aches and strains.

Future Planning attended the Elements 2025 Conference in July

The Elements 2025 Financial Planning Conference took place in Manchester this year.

The conference was split into two. Firstly, an ‘Elements Evening’ provided an opportunity to meet and mix with everyone, and allowed Adam to belt out his rendition of ‘Mr Blue Sky’ during karaoke. The next day, the conference itself featured a speech by George Kinder, which proved to be one of Adam’s highlights.

Sian praised the conference’s positive vibe and the opportunity to bond as a team. “It was great to see lots of women at a financial event too.”

Summer brought the My Dad’s Bigger Than Your Dad Festival and a day at the races

In July, Future Planning once again sponsored the My Dad’s Bigger Than Your Dad Festival at the Old Town Bowl in Swindon, with all profits going to Prospect Hospice.

Eight great bands entertained a packed crowd, and Future Planning was there too, having fun, taking part, and catching up with clients.

Total Guide Wiltshire hosted Future Planning at Bath Races in September. The betting might have been unsuccessful, but a great time was had by all, and the Lincoln limousine that provided transport there and back was the icing on the cake.

There have been plenty of team successes, too

At the start of the year, Drew passed his R01 exam in Financial Services, Regulation, and Ethics.

Sian is studying through the CII to become a financial adviser. She passed R01 and R02 with flying colours and immediately began work on R04.

Tyrone is currently working towards his Diploma in Financial Planning. He passed his Financial Services, Regulation, and Ethics (R01) exam at the start of the year before moving on to R05 in Financial Protection.

Future Planning also achieved three certifications through Standards International:

  • Framework for the provision of financial advice and planning services (BS 8577)
  • Compliance framework for regulated financial services firms (BS 8453)
  • The standard for personal financial planners (BS ISO 22222:2005)

We are incredibly proud to be one of just two independent financial planning firms nationally to hold all three accreditations.

Congratulations to all for their hard work in 2025, and we’re looking forward to an equally successful 2026.
